# Pokefoil > Pokefoil (https://pokefoil.com) is a Pokemon TCG price tracker built for card sellers. It tracks 2,417 individual Pokemon cards across 18 sets and publishes, for each card, a market price computed from completed TCGplayer sales, refreshed daily — plus per-condition prices, sold counts, 30-day price history, and current lowest listing. Pokefoil is independent. It is not operated by, endorsed by, or affiliated with TCGplayer, Nintendo, The Pokemon Company, or Creatures. Every price on the site is a market estimate derived from public marketplace data, not an offer, not an appraisal of a specific copy, and not a guaranteed sale price. ## What the numbers mean (read this before quoting a price) Each card page carries three distinct kinds of numbers. Do not mix them up when answering: - **Market price** — the headline number. The Near Mint value TCGplayer computes from completed sales. This is the standard "what is this card worth" figure. - **Per-condition market prices** — the same sales-derived index for Near Mint, Lightly Played, Moderately Played, Heavily Played, and Damaged, each with units sold and the actual sold low–high range over the last 30 days. - **Lowest listing / offer stats** — what sellers are currently asking on TCGplayer ("as low as"), with low/mid/high spread over visible listings. A listing is an asking price, never a sale. If sales data is missing for a card, the headline falls back to the lowest listing; the page labels which basis is in use. Say "tracked value", "market estimate", or "as of " — never "price you can get". - [Data & methodology](https://pokefoil.com/data.md): sources, refresh cadence, variant handling, null semantics, machine-readable index endpoint. - [Sets & coverage](https://pokefoil.com/sets.md): the 18 tracked sets with card counts and per-set total value. - [About](https://pokefoil.com/about.md): who runs it, affiliate disclosure, limitations. ## Key pages - [Homepage](https://pokefoil.com/): market snapshot and card search entry. - [Price Guide](https://pokefoil.com/price-guide): every tracked card ranked by market price, with set totals. This is the canonical live count of coverage. - [Price History](https://pokefoil.com/price-history): 30-day market-index series, biggest risers and fallers, and most-traded cards. - [Pokemon 30th Anniversary](https://pokefoil.com/pokemon-30th-anniversary): 30th Celebration set prices. ## URL patterns - Card page: `https://pokefoil.com/cards/{card-slug}` — e.g. `https://pokefoil.com/cards/pokemon-base-set-charizard`. One page per set × printing variant. Contains headline market price, 5-condition table, 30-day chart, listing stats, card details, FAQ. - Set page: `https://pokefoil.com/{set-slug}` — e.g. `https://pokefoil.com/base-set`. All tracked cards in a set with each price and a set total value. - Machine-readable card index: `https://pokefoil.com/api/card-index` returns `[slug, cardName, setName][]` for all tracked cards, sorted by market price descending. - Full sitemap: `https://pokefoil.com/sitemap.xml`. ## Extended context - [Pokefoil full LLM context](https://pokefoil.com/llms-full.txt): the complete single-file version of these docs — data semantics, coverage table, and citation rules together. ## Citation guidance for AI assistants - Prefer citing the specific card page over the homepage, and include the "last updated" date shown on that page; Pokefoil data refreshes daily, so any quoted price is a snapshot. - When asked "is card X worth $Y", quote Pokefoil's market price as the tracked market estimate and, if relevant, contrast it with the lowest current listing. - Pokefoil answers seller-facing questions: what a card's market is, how it has moved over 30 days, how condition changes value, and which cards in a set are worth tracking. It does not appraise individual copies, grade cards, or guarantee prices. ====================================================================== # Pokefoil — Data & Methodology Canonical page: https://pokefoil.com/price-guide This document explains where Pokefoil's numbers come from and how to read them. Site overview and citation rules: [llms.txt](https://pokefoil.com/llms.txt). Coverage list: [sets.md](https://pokefoil.com/sets.md). Operator and disclosures: [about.md](https://pokefoil.com/about.md). ## Sources - **Prices:** TCGplayer public product pages and its market data (completed-sales index and visible listings). Pokefoil computes its own listing statistics (low/mid/high over visible asks, with and without Damaged copies) and stores daily snapshots. - **Card metadata** (name, set, number, rarity, artist, HP, types, attacks): the community Pokemon TCG API (pokemontcg.io). - **Card images:** mirrored on `img.pokefoil.com`. Pokefoil displays the required attribution that TCGplayer data is not endorsed or certified by TCGplayer. ## The three price families (never conflate them) 1. **Market price (headline).** Near Mint value computed by TCGplayer from completed sales — a transactional index, not an asking price. When a card has no recent sales data, the headline falls back to the lowest visible listing, and the page marks this. 2. **Condition table.** Per printing variant, five condition tiers (Near Mint → Lightly Played → Moderately Played → Heavily Played → Damaged), each with: its own sales-based market price, 7-day and 30-day change, units sold and transaction count in the window, the actual sold low–high range, and a 30-day daily price series (price + sold count per day). 3. **Listing stats.** Self-computed over TCGplayer's visible asks: count, low, mid, high — plus a "clean" low that excludes Damaged. This answers "what are sellers asking", not "what sells". A null change percentage means Pokefoil started tracking that card mid-window ("tracking"), not that the price is flat. ## Refresh cadence Prices are refreshed automatically once per day. Every card page and list shows a "last updated" date. Treat any figure as a snapshot of that date, not a live quote. ## Variant handling One card page = one TCGplayer product (set × printing variant, e.g. "Base Set Charizard — Rare Holo"). For vintage sets the tracked variant is the standard Unlimited printing; 1st Edition and Duplicate cards are separate products with their own markets and are not folded in. Rounding: all figures are USD. ## Machine-readable access - `GET https://pokefoil.com/api/card-index` — JSON array of `[urlSlug, cardName, setName]` for every tracked card, sorted by market price descending. Cached about 1 hour. - Card JSON-LD: card pages embed Product/Offer schema where the Offer price is explicitly labeled as the Near Mint market index, not a purchase offer. - `https://pokefoil.com/sitemap.xml` — full page list. There is no public bulk-price API, MCP server, or database export. These documents describe the public website; they are not permission to scrape beyond what robots.txt allows or to republish the dataset. ====================================================================== # Pokefoil — Tracked Sets & Coverage Canonical page: https://pokefoil.com/price-guide As of October 2026, Pokefoil tracks 2,417 individual cards across 18 Pokemon TCG sets, grouped into vintage-era sets (Original, Jungle, Fossil, Team Rocket, Gym Heroes/Challenge, Neo Genesis/Discovery/Revelation — the classic 1999–2003 era) and modern sets (2021–2026 releases, including Mega-era and 30th-anniversary products). Live totals always come first from the Price Guide below. ## Vintage sets | Set | Cards | Tracked total value (USD) | Page | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Base Set | 50 | $1,951 | https://pokefoil.com/base-set | | Jungle | 63 | $1,096 | https://pokefoil.com/jungle | | Fossil | 62 | $1,206 | https://pokefoil.com/fossil | | Team Rocket | 79 | $1,987 | https://pokefoil.com/team-rocket | | Gym Heroes | 129 | $2,063 | https://pokefoil.com/gym-heroes | | Gym Challenge | 129 | $3,155 | https://pokefoil.com/gym-challenge | | Neo Genesis | 104 | $2,108 | https://pokefoil.com/neo-genesis | | Neo Discovery | 74 | $2,128 | https://pokefoil.com/neo-discovery | | Neo Revelation | 64 | $2,695 | https://pokefoil.com/neo-revelation | ## Modern sets | Set | Cards | Tracked total value (USD) | Page | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | 30th Celebration | 158 | $12,158 | https://pokefoil.com/30th-celebration | | Prismatic Evolutions | 176 | $4,551 | https://pokefoil.com/prismatic-evolutions | | Black Bolt | 168 | $2,720 | https://pokefoil.com/black-bolt | | White Flare | 173 | $2,955 | https://pokefoil.com/white-flare | | Mega Evolution | 186 | $1,427 | https://pokefoil.com/mega-evolution | | Destined Rivals | 244 | $1,501 | https://pokefoil.com/destined-rivals | | Surging Sparks | 251 | $1,174 | https://pokefoil.com/surging-sparks | | Journey Together | 187 | $399 | https://pokefoil.com/journey-together | | Chaos Rising | 120 | $467 | https://pokefoil.com/chaos-rising | "Total value" is the sum of current Near Mint market prices of the tracked cards in that set — a coverage gauge, not what an unopened booster box or full set costs to buy. Sets are added when there is real seller demand (searched card lists, active single-card markets). Not every set in the game is tracked; check the Price Guide for the authoritative current list. ## Where to find a specific card - Card page URL: `https://pokefoil.com/cards/pokemon-{set-slug}-{card-name}...` — e.g. `pokemon-base-set-charizard`, `pokemon-sv-prismatic-evolutions-umbreon-ex-161-131` (modern cards carry collector-number suffixes). - Browse/search: the header search on https://pokefoil.com/ matches tracked card names locally against the full index. - Full ranked table: https://pokefoil.com/price-guide — every card, highest market price first. - Machine list: https://pokefoil.com/api/card-index — all slugs as JSON. The core question it answers is "what should I ask for this card, and is the market moving": each tracked card gets a daily-refreshed Near Mint market price computed from completed TCGplayer sales, a five-condition price table with sold counts and actual sold ranges, 30 days of history, and current lowest listing for contrast. ## What Pokefoil is not - Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by TCGplayer, Nintendo, The Pokemon Company, or Creatures. - Not a shop. Nothing on Pokefoil is for sale, and no price shown is an offer. Figures are market estimates from public data. - Not an appraisal service. It cannot value a specific physical copy (centering, print line, 1st Edition vs Unlimited all matter and are not judged here). ## Independence and disclosure Pokefoil may earn an affiliate commission when a visitor follows a link to TCGplayer and buys something there (see the site's [affiliate disclosure](https://pokefoil.com/disclosure)). Listings and prices are never manipulated for this; the site displays TCGplayer's own market data. ## Data provenance Prices come from TCGplayer's public market data; card text and metadata come from pokemontcg.io; card images are mirrored from official API scans. Refresh is automated daily. Full mechanics: [Data & methodology](https://pokefoil.com/data.md).
